Can I Teach in the UK?

Am I Qualified To Teach in the UK?

UK FlagThe two education systems hold much in common and it is for this reason that your skills and experience are in such demand.

To be able to teach in the UK you will need to have successfully completed your teacher training and hold a Bachelor of Education or a Graduate Diploma in Education from a recognised university.

The majority of teachers teach within their main subject or age group specialism’s meaning there is less of a requirement to teach a broad range of subjects.

Education in the UK is divided into: primary, secondary, further and higher education. All children aged five to sixteen have to attend school and follow the four compulsory Key Stages of the National Curriculum. The fifth Key stage is an optional advanced level that pupils work towards in the post-16 high school phase of education.

In order to teach in the UK you will be required to teach the National Curriculum of England, it is similar to the curricular requirements of Australia.
