Most schools operate the system of the ‘Head of Year’ (a senior teacher who has pastoral responsibility for the entire school year). Many schools also appoint class or form tutors who are responsible for the registration and day to day pastoral care of their form group.
House based systems may also operate within schools to accommodate intramural competitions.
