If you wish to work for longer than four years or return to the UK to teach in the future you are required to gain QTS in the UK within an initial four year period.
The Four Year Rule
The four years that you can teach as a temporary teacher in the UK before requiring QTS starts from the first day you teach in a mainstream school in England. Any breaks in teaching will also count.
How to get UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
